I saw my favorite band from when I was 13 at Emo’s. I believe it was my 5th time seeing them live. After 7 years of listening to New Found Glory, I gotta say, they’ve still got it! AND they played lots of old hits from their self-titled album and Sticks & Stones which made me love them even more :)

*Real noisy since I shot at ISO 1600, but I think it works.

@ The Parish in Austin, Texas

January 30, 2009

My first concert of 2009, and it was a great one. I saw Welsh band Los Campesinos! with Titus Andronicus at The Parish. They played a bunch of my favs off of Hold On Now Youngster: This Is How You Spell…, You! Me! Dancing!, Broken Heartbeats Sound Like Breakbeats, etc. What a badass show!

Innerpartysystem played in Austin at Emos. Mollie and I went to promote for and see IPS. Their lighting was pretty epic…I’m so glad I brought my slr!

(it says April 10 on the headline because it was past midnight by the time I got back)

Elaine and I went to go see a show at the White Rabbit in San Antonio. I had a photopass but there was no barricade so I was in the crowd throughout Steel Train and Bayside, and on stage for The Starting Line.

Steel Train. We were close. Really close. Like directly in front and center of the stage to the point that the lead singer’s spit would get on you when he sang close.

Steel Train

The one time Ant picked up an acoustic guitar for Don’t Call Me Peanut was the only time the crowd was calm enough for me to take out my camera without fearing that a crowdsurfer would fall on me or that my ribs would get smashed against the stage. Yeah, it was pretty intense…we were so sweaty that the sticky stuff on the back of our VIP passes melted off and fell off our shirts somewhere.

The Starting Line

Remember when Say It Like You Mean It came out? I do, waaay back in 9th grade. I’ll miss TSL and their fun pop-punk :(
